Ductwork that moves air quietly
Good ductwork is invisible to the people in the room: they feel even temperatures, hear little noise and breathe fresh air. Poor ductwork leaks, rattles and starves rooms of air. We build and install duct systems to the design and to SMACNA construction standards.
Our sheet-metal scope covers supply, return, outside-air and exhaust systems in galvanized steel, stainless steel and aluminum, in rectangular, round and spiral profiles.
We install fire, smoke and combination fire/smoke dampers with access for inspection, and support duct leakage testing so the system delivers what the engineer designed.
Scope of Work
This service can be contracted on its own or as part of a complete mechanical and construction package.
- Supply, return & exhaustComplete low- and medium-pressure duct systems for HVAC equipment.
- Rectangular, round & spiralDuct profiles in galvanized, stainless and aluminum as specified.
- Fire & smoke dampersFire, smoke and combination dampers installed with access doors.
- Air devicesDiffusers, registers, grilles and louvers set and connected.
- Insulation & liningExternal duct wrap and internal lining coordinated for energy and acoustics.
- Kitchen exhaustWelded grease duct for commercial and institutional kitchens.
- Leakage testingDuct leakage tests to the specified class before ceilings close.
- Retrofits in occupied spacesPhased duct replacement and modification in buildings in use.
Systems & Equipment
How We Deliver
Survey & Scope
We walk the site, review drawings and existing conditions, and confirm exactly what the job includes.
Clear Proposal
An itemized price and schedule, with value-engineering options where they make sense.
Coordinated Install
Submittals approved, trades coordinated and experienced crews on site with a supervisor accountable for the work.
Leakage test & air balance
Duct sections are leakage tested before they are concealed, then air devices are set for testing and balancing.
On the Job
Why Choose Bharat Mechanical
Built to standard
Duct construction, sealing and supports follow SMACNA standards and the specification.
Life-safety detail
Fire and smoke dampers installed correctly with access for inspection.
Ceiling coordination
Duct routing coordinated with structure, sprinklers, lights and other trades.
Frequently Asked Questions
What materials do you use for ductwork?+
Galvanized steel for most supply, return and exhaust systems, stainless steel or aluminum where the environment or specification requires it, and welded black steel for kitchen grease duct.
Do you install fire and smoke dampers?+
Yes. We install fire, smoke and combination dampers where the drawings show them, with access doors so they can be inspected and tested.
What is duct leakage testing?+
A test that pressurizes a section of duct and measures how much air escapes. It confirms the duct is sealed to the class the engineer specified before it is hidden above ceilings.
Can you replace ductwork while the building is open?+
Yes. We phase duct replacement by area and work around the building's schedule, protecting occupied spaces as we go.
