Piping built to hold pressure
Piping is the circulatory system of a mechanical installation. It has to be laid out cleanly, supported correctly, pitched where it needs to drain and tested before it is ever closed in. Our pipefitters install HVAC piping in new buildings, renovations and live mechanical rooms.
We work in black steel, copper and other specified materials using welded, threaded, grooved and press-fit joints, choosing the method the specification calls for and the site allows.
Before handover, piping systems are hydrostatically or pneumatically tested, flushed and prepared for water treatment and insulation, with valves tagged for the owner's staff.
Scope of Work
This service can be contracted on its own or as part of a complete mechanical and construction package.
- Heating hot waterSupply and return piping for boilers, coils, radiation and terminal units.
- Chilled & condenser waterPiping for chillers, cooling towers, air handlers and fan coils.
- Steam & condensateLow-pressure steam, condensate return, traps and steam specialties.
- Glycol & process loopsFreeze-protected loops and equipment process piping where specified.
- Condensate drainsEquipment condensate drainage, pitched and trapped correctly.
- Valves & specialtiesBalancing valves, control valves, strainers, gauges and thermometers.
- Supports & hangersHangers, anchors, guides and expansion compensation laid out to code.
- Testing & flushingPressure testing, flushing and cleaning before systems go into service.
Systems & Equipment
How We Deliver
Survey & Scope
We walk the site, review drawings and existing conditions, and confirm exactly what the job includes.
Clear Proposal
An itemized price and schedule, with value-engineering options where they make sense.
Coordinated Install
Submittals approved, trades coordinated and experienced crews on site with a supervisor accountable for the work.
Pressure test & flush
Each system is pressure tested and witnessed where required, then flushed and cleaned before water treatment.
On the Job
Why Choose Bharat Mechanical
Clean, serviceable layouts
Piping routed for access to valves and equipment, not just to fit.
Tested before closed in
No piping is concealed until it has passed its pressure test.
Right joint for the job
Welded, threaded, grooved or press-fit, matched to the specification and site conditions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of piping systems do you install?+
Heating hot water, chilled water, condenser water, steam and condensate, glycol loops, equipment condensate drains and refrigerant piping for HVAC systems.
Do you install press-fit piping?+
Yes, where the specification allows it. Press-fit joints can speed up installation and reduce hot work in occupied buildings.
How is piping tested?+
Systems are pressure tested to the values in the specification and code, held for the required time and inspected for leaks before insulation or ceilings close them in.
Do you work on steam systems in older buildings?+
Yes. Many New York City buildings still run on steam, and we repair, upgrade and replace steam and condensate piping and specialties.
